Negombo beachBeing an island, Sri Lanka is blessed with many beautiful beaches. Many are deserted, and you can have the whole place to yourself and perhaps imagine you're Robinson Crusoe.
Many travellers first acquaintance with the beach here is in Negombo because this town is the nearest to the airport. However, the beaches here are overrun with a kind of seaweed.
Hakkiduwa in the south-west has better beaches.
